Kent Farrington, the new leader

Sooner or later it had to happen… After thirty-three months of hegemony, the Longines Rankings for show jumping has a new leader: Kent Farrington. Henrik von Eckermann, who was in the lead for the longest consecutive period in the history of the ranking – from August 2022 to April 2025 – has abdicated in favor of the American who has had a dazzling start to the season. In the space of four months, Farrington has in fact won six five- and four-star Grand Prix with two horses, two fillies, that he has built by riding them since they were seven and eight years old: the gray Greya and the bay Toulayna.

And that’s what gives him the most satisfaction.
“I’m happy to be back in first place in the world rankings – he said – but I’m also very proud to have done it with a group of very talented horses that I’ve been riding since they were young. It’s very rewarding to reflect on their growth path, and I’m excited to think about where we can get together”.

It is not the first time that Kent Farrington has taken the lead in the world rankings. He had already done so in May 2017, remaining at the top for exactly one year.
“Henrik’s three-year domination has been impressive,” he added. “He has set such high performance standards that he deserves to go down in the history of our sport. The first place is therefore an honor not only for me, but also for my team and for all those who support me.”
